Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))
At this URL: browser:trunk/dports/net/arping/Portfile the description reads:
"utility to find out if a MAC address is already taken on a LAN"
The long description reads:
"Arping is a util to find out if a specific IP address on the LAN is 'taken' and what MAC address owns it."
The long description is correct. The description is incorrect because you're not looking to see if a MAC address is taken just the IP address. Aside from soft-setting the MAC address you shouldn't run into duplicate MAC addresses on an Ethernet network.
