hi i want install assimp on mac os x 10.10, but i have problem with python27, Unable to activate port python27 .
xcode version: 6.1
command line tools is up to date,
---> Computing dependencies for assimp ---> Dependencies to be installed: boost python27 ---> Activating python27 @2.7.8_3 Error: org.macports.activate for port python27 returned: Image error: /Applications/MacPorts/Python 2.7/IDLE.app/Contents/Info.plist already exists and does not belong to a registered port. Unable to activate port python27. Use 'port -f activate python27' to force the activation. Why does the indicated file already exist? It shouldn't.
You can force the activation (i.e. "sudo port -f activate python27") but you might run into the same problem later with other ports, if files they want to install also already exist on your system.
To eliminate the problem, you could follow the MacPorts uninstallation instructions, then reinstall MacPorts and the ports you want.
