Note that "Request" may, in fact, be accurate. We have a gramps3 port. We may want to make a gramps4 and use "gramps" for version 5.

I'm not a fan of keeping multiple versions of applications around. I think we should simply update the existing port to the latest version.

Those of us that have hundreds or thousands of hours invested in researching our family histories may not be so keen to trust an upgraded program. What if the "upgrade" has a subtle data bug that quietly corrupts our database as we enter new information? Gramps 5 has big changes in the backend data storage. I _expect_ it is fine but I'd rather give it some time to prove itself.

Hopefully David will chime in soon then. It should be relatively trivial to add a sub-port for gramps4.

port was updated to the requested version (5.0.1) in this commit by the maintainer and is currently at v5.1.1.
In the future, please add the maintainer to the
Cc
