I am seeing the same/similar issue on x86_64 Mac OS Monterey 12.4. When I do sudo port -s install watchman
the compile fails with the same errors and in the same place as the log posted by ttelford
If I do an install with sudo port install watchman
when I execute watchman --version
the version reports as "0.0.0".
