Description
as it currently stands, dnscrypt-proxy
has the following notes:
---> dnscrypt-proxy has the following notes: To use this port, update your DNS server settings to point to 127.0.0.1 (in the Network Preference Pane -> Advanced... -> DNS tab) If you are upgrading from dnscrypt-proxy 2.0.x, the configuration file has changed and you will need to modify your configuration file to match the 2.1.x configuration file requirements. A startup item has been generated that will aid in starting dnscrypt-proxy with launchd. It is disabled by default. Execute the following command to start it, and to cause it to launch at startup: sudo port load dnscrypt-proxy
Running sudo port load dnscrypt-proxy
at the command line after installation though does not work.
My initial assessment was that it's because /opt/local/share/dnscrypt-proxy/dnscrypt-proxy.toml
(mentioned in /Library/LaunchDaemons/org.macports.dnscrypt-proxy.plist
) is missing. HOWEVER, even after sudo cp /opt/local/share/dnscrypt-proxy/example-dnscrypt-proxy.toml /opt/local/share/dnscrypt-proxy/dnscrypt-proxy.toml
, runnning sudo port load dnscrypt-proxy
still does not work (I get no errors or complaints though, at the command line; and echo $?
gives 0
).
