php74: Undefined symbols

I am new to MacPorts, yes I did a search and couldn't find a similar report and a sudo port clean (that failed too) but I did see that when I tried re-installing it ran what appears to be a successful port clean

MacBook Pro mid-2018 - Intel i9, 32gig.

Xcode latest version 16 (Sequoia) clean installation after laptop had been hard drive wiped and Sequoia installed by Apple.

Here is the last sections of the log window during installation which failed twice (in what 'appears' to be the same way:

I have read #70468 which you pointed to as being the original duplicate of my ticket but it doesn't resolve the issue sadly.

I have done those 2 commands:

If you require php74 or older, with the understanding that those versions have reached end of life, you can work around the problem by running:

sudo port clean php74-apache2handler
sudo port install php74-apache2handler configure.cflags="-Os -Wno-error=implicit-int"

(unfortunately I need php 7.4 locally for the next X months which a site is transitioned to php 8.1+)

and received this:

In #70468, the user was experiencing the problem with the php74-apache2handler port, so that is the one that needed to be cleaned and tried again. You are experiencing the problem with the php74 port, so that is the one that needs to be cleaned and tried again in your case. Your transcript above does not contain the line ---> Configuring php74, showing that it was not cleaned before trying again. It is the configure phase which would respond to changing the value of configure.cflags; your attempt failed since the configure phase was skipped because it was already completed (with the old value of configure.cflags) from your last attempt. So run sudo port clean php74 and try again.

If it fails again, please file a new ticket and attach the new main.log file. There may be a new additional problem on macOS Sequoia. Our automated build of php80, which already contains the fix for #70468, failed on macOS Sequoia for reasons I have not yet investigated; I would not be surprised if all earlier versions of php also fail for this new unknown reason.
