Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))
I installed xmms (w/ glib1, gtk1) using darwinports but got this error at startup:
GLib-ERROR **: could not allocate -1 bytes aborting... Abort trap
I got the same error when I compiled everything myself.
After some tests I finally found out that if I did gcc_select 3.3 and recompile, it worked ; but it didn't work using gcc 4.0.
You may want to update the Portfile to prevent this problem.
Note : I run the latest update of Mac OS X (this may have broken something).

I had and still have 1.2.10_5. It was installed automatically while installing xmms. I did'nt have glib installed before.

Which glib1 version do/did you have installed? I saw something similar with 1.2.10_4 and upgrading to 1.2.10_5 (which is current) fixed it.
