I'm following the examples at http://guide.macports.org/#using.binaries

[grahamperrin:~] gjp22% sudo port dmg pdftohtml
--->  Creating pkg for pdftohtml-0.40a
Error: Target org.macports.pkg returned: shell command …

Command output: 
The package could not be created because of the following errors:
Root directory … destroot" is not valid.

Error: Status 1 encountered during processing.

Please: if sudo port dmg portname is not sufficient:

  • is there a better command for building packages, images and in MacPorts 1.6 mdmg targets?

mdmg is preferred.
