py27-numpy 1.4.1 - import numpy - Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)

After recent installation on Snow Leopard:

sudo port install python27

python_select python27

sudo port install py27-numpy

(everything installed ok)

and

import numpy

I get

Fatal Python error: Interpreter not initialized (version mismatch?)

I'm not sure why this port was added, as upstream seems to indicate that numpy doesn't yet work with python 2.7.

I raised this very point when I saw it had been committed as the testsuite segfaults.

When copying py26 ports to py27 ports in r69687, maintainership was also copied.
I removed myself in r69782.

Deleted py27-numpy and its dependents in r69789. It can come back when upstream releases a new version.
