mongodb fails to start

Reported by: jabronson@… Owned by: ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 1.9.2
Keywords: Cc:
Port: mongodb

Description

I've had mongodb 1.6.4_0 installed since it was made available and it just started segfaulting on startup: http://paste.pocoo.org/show/300104/ Not sure how to tell what's going on. Attaching an Instruments trace in case it helps.

The 64-bit mongod binary from http://fastdl.mongodb.org/osx/mongodb-osx-x86_64-1.6.4.tgz does not exhibit this behavior:

12:23 jab@hex:/usr/local/mongodb-osx-x86_64-1.6.4/bin $ ./mongod --dbpath=/tmp
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 MongoDB starting : pid=66958 port=27017 dbpath=/tmp 64-bit
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 db version v1.6.4, pdfile version 4.5
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 git version: 4f5c02f8d92ff213b71b88f5eb643b7f62b50abc
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 sys info: Darwin erh2.10gen.cc 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 BOOST_LIB_VERSION=1_40
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 [initandlisten] waiting for connections on port 27017
Sun Dec 5 12:23:36 [websvr] web admin interface listening on port 28017

Could this have something to do with boost?

Does this still happen with 1.8.3?

I haven't been using Mongo for anything for some time now so I'm no longer the best person to test. Feel free to close; if someone reproduces they can reopen.

mongodb in MacPorts is now at version 2.0.1. I can't reproduce this problem.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
