Description
py-pyqt3 is a python interface to the qt library. The portfile is done, but the only tricky thing is that it depends on py-sip with variant qt3 bindings. From what I understand, there's no way to depend on a variant, so any suggestions on how to package this? I suppose I could create a py-sip-qt3 package that inlines the variant, but this seems a little ugly. So, any suggestions?
Thanks,

There still isn't a way to depend upon a variant. You could put a ui_msg section in prefetch telling users they need preinstall py-sip with +qt3-mac. Ugly but there isn't much else you can do until we have that capability. By the way, the current version of py-sip has the qt3-mac variant remarked out right now. Perhaps it needs fixed or maybe just tested.

I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of a newer one (rather than the reverse) since this one is pretty old now and was never acted on.
