I assign this to David and CC Jeremy as maintainer of port ffmpeg. Maybe you have a clearer I idea what to do about this. I guess, this is a submission of an alternative to ffmpeg, which is conflicting with it.

It would be very much appreciated if ffmpeg and ffmbc could be installed and be active at the same time. ffmbc is good for creating broadcast formats and the mxf wrapper, but its fork of ffmpeg is quite old (2011-07-26 22:34:44 +0200). I use both applications daily ffmbc for broadcast formats and ffmpeg for all other using it's new features (mainly filter graph). To achieve this on linux machines I have compiled ffmbc manually and disabled ffmbc's "ffprobe" and on Mac OS X I have installed it via homebrew, which works, but I do not like having two package managers...

I would love to see a ffmbc port and if I can help let me know (I have my manual recipe for compiling it that I could share).
