Description
Port attached. Since I use this software myself I would be interested in also maintaining it.
There is a newer version out, but is is impossible to build, or I could at least not manage to build it due to mysterious linking problems.

Sorry, didn’t notice that this needs kdelibs3
and qt3
. I’m not… really… going to install those. I guess you can handle this one, Aljaž?

Yeah, qt3 is... unfortunate... I'd post the newest version and try to investigate on the linking problems...

This newer version I referred to still depends on qt3. So I guess that is not an option.
Is qt3 so horrible, that nobody is going to look over these ports? I tested them on multiple systems. I know they work!

Hmm... ok, I guess we have no choice then...

I believe you! It's just that qt3 is old, and if a version with qt4 exists, we prefer using that than qt3.
EDIT: oh, and I just remembered that qt3 conflicts with qt4. So a potential user must uninstall all the applications that use qt4 in order to use this. I mean, qt4 was released 8 years ago. Latest release of klusters was 1 and a half year ago. Is this software still actively developed?

We would prefer using the qt4 version too, but it is just not ready yet/still in development.

Well, it is maintained mostly by scientists. Therefore a release cycle of a few years is somewhat normal. From what I have heard it is still in active development though.
A lot of people actually use this software too: Klusters at Google Scholar

Yes, if you notify someone. Not everyone keeps looking at new tickets.
I just sent an email to the macports-dev mailing list. In the future you can do that, too if a port needs to be looked at!

The latest klusters release is 2.0.0, and from a cursory look it uses qt4, so if you or anyone else could update the port file I'll add it do the ports tree.
