Description
NCAR Graphics/NCAR Command Language, a.k.a. MacPorts package ncarg @6.1.2, lists lesstif as a required dependency. Unfortunately, lesstif has an unresolved problem as documented in other MacPort tickets (see Ticket #37663).
However NCAR/CISLs site does not include lesstif in the list of packages that need to be installed manually before building NCARG/NCL from source code. Note that all other listed dependencies for ncarg @6.1.2 ( cairo curl flex gcc47 gdal hdfeos hdfeos5 libxml2 proj triangle udunits2 vis5d wgrib2 xorg-libXaw ) will build satisfactorily on their own, safe for lesstif. This version of NCAR graphics compiles and executes for current releases of MacOS as the binaries are available through the Earth Systems Grid.
Is lesstif actually a requirement for ncarg? If not, can it be expunged from the dependency list?
