pinentry-mac not opening GUI

Reported by: robitaille@… Owned by: Ionic (Mihai Moldovan)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.3.3
Keywords: Cc:
Port: pinentry-mac

Description (last modified by ryandesign (Ryan Carsten Schmidt))

I installed the pinentry-mac port and then tried:

/Applications/MacPorts/pinentry-mac.app/Contents/MacOS/pinentry-mac

but it shows the prompt in the console instead of as a GUI. I am using the pinentry-mac 0.8.1_1 port. Any ideas on why this might be happening and how to debug further?

Doing:

/Applications/MacPorts/pinentry-mac.app/Contents/MacOS/pinentry-mac --debug

gives no further information.

Just to clarify, I meant I am using pinentry-mac @0.8.1_1 (not pinentry)

So, you're starting /Applications/MacPorts/pinentry-mac.app/Contents/MacOS/pinentry-mac up, right?

And that's then printing on STDOUT and reading from STDIN. That's normal.

After it started up, enter GETPIN, which will bring up a (in this case test) graphical dialog.

Does that solve your problem?

Thanks - indeed this works, I had misunderstood.
