Regarding the comment
# setting any arguments to ./configure will probably fail, that probably means you need to adjust how the universal variant works as well, since by default it adds a configure argument.Regarding the string
${destroot}/${prefix}which appears twice in the portfile,${prefix}already begins with a slash, so it is not correct to prefix it with another slash.
