root6 @6-08-04 +mariadb+python34 failure to verify checksum

Reported by: ith140 (Ian Hoffman) Owned by: cjones051073 (Chris Jones)
Priority: Normal Milestone:
Component: ports Version: 2.4.1
Keywords: Cc: mojca (Mojca Miklavec)
Port: root6

Description

When attempting to install root6 with mariadb and python34 variants, I get checksum errors.

--->  Computing dependencies for root6
--->  Verifying checksums for root6
Error: Checksum (rmd160) mismatch for root-6-08-04.tar.gz
Error: Checksum (sha256) mismatch for root-6-08-04.tar.gz
Error: Failed to checksum root6: Unable to verify file checksums

I have tried cleaning the port and reinstalling, but the problem persists with this combination of variants. Installation using no variants installs correctly, while installing with either variant alone also fails.

Trac requires real email addresses or Github handles.

You did not specify the mirror that you downloaded the archive from. Did you read the FAQ about checksum errors?

It failed upon download from: http://lil.fr.packages.macports.org/root6

Just reading up on how to change mirrors now... Thanks for the pointer.

It's a little unclear to me how to choose a different mirror. I've tried downloading the file directly from the mirror list and placed the file in /opt/local/var/macports/incoming/verified/ or /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/root and it still grabs the root file from the lil.fr site. Is there a way to temporarily blacklist that mirror?

Am I right that this is just a problem with a mirror? In that case you should ask for help on the mailing list or on the IRC channel, I'm not the best reference in suggesting how to configure the mirrors.

If that is the case, I suggest to mark this ticket as invalid, at least with respect to ROOT6.

If the mirror is still corrupted (I didn't check), we should file a ticket about the mirror. Btw, the URL above is for binary packages. The problematic part must be in sources (distfiles rather than packages). Please ask on the mailing list.

You can delete the sources manually from /opt/local/var/macports/distfiles/root/ (and run port clean root6).

6.08.06 is the latest release. Please try updating your ports and try again, if you haven't already.
