There were several previous errors that I was able to fix using the suggested commands that were associated with the errors, but nothing I tried could fix this error.

In the future, please use WikiFormatting, fill in the Port field with the port that actually fails to build and add the port maintainer(s) to Cc (port info --maintainers libiodbc), if any. Trac only accepts email addresses or GibHub handles, entering <, none, > is not helpful.

Is there an older libiodbc already installed and active? Curious if deactivating it will fix the issue for you.

Oh, actually, this is a case where trace mode (port -t) will actually help out. Something is being opportunistically pulled in that shouldn't be.

It appears blocking access to pkgconfig allows a successful build. So using tracemode (port -t) is a workaround for now.
