Updated from grep @3.7_2
to grep @3.8_0
and now some of my scripts and cronjobs are failing with
grep: Perl matching not supported in a --disable-perl-regexp build
GNU compatibility is a large part of why I use MacPorts; this departure is surprising
Was this intentionally removed? And intentionally not made available with a variant?

Grep 3.8 now needs pcre2, but the dependency in the port was left as pcre.
