perl5.34 works
It is not necessary to fix 5.26

OK, great. I guess the older perl versions should at least be marked as not supported on the newer OS versions.

Looks like perl5.26 is just too old to recognise macOS versions 11 and later. Is there a particular reason you need 5.26, or can you uninstall it and switch to perl5.34, which is what most things in MacPorts are using now?
Also, presumably you must have migrated from an older OS version in order to have perl5.26 installed in the first place, so make sure to follow wiki:Migration if that's not what you were already doing.
